There are also other theories that scientifically disprove all the above “predictions”. They go to the extent of refuting the existence of Mayan Calendar. What to believe and what not?

Taking both things into account, we shall go little deeper into the subject. You may wonder, but sure I am not going to foretell anything or produce any third hypothesis.

Let us start from the present.

One thing is certain that the temperature of the Earth is raising, polar ice caps are melting and the mean sea level is coming up. There are lots of talks about Global Warming and all the countries are working out the measures to counter this aspect.

Are we not witnessing climatic variations? The temperature in this February is as if we are in the mid of peak summer days. The rains are gone off-season. In many countries the rainwater is acidic and liable to cause skin cancers if exposed. The earthquakes have become more frequent causing death tolls in thousands. Tsunamis have also become recurrent. The scientists say that there are movements in the earthen plates deep under, which is resulting as Earth quakes and tsunamis.

Researchers say that since past 5 years, there has been a rise in temperature at the rate of 1 degree every year. True, we are witnessing that. In countries like United Kingdom and many others, the people tend to get skin burns if exposed to sun even at a temperature of 20-25 degrees. This is because of the thinning of the protection shield that prevents harmful rays. In the Middle Eastern countries, where there were no sign of rain from the known data, has now started getting downpours. Researches say that the rainwater is more acidic in nature and the Governments have refrained the people from going out while raining. We can site numerous examples.

What is really happening to our Earth? Science can say numerous things but can it make a common man aware of the fact?

Logically, if the present temperature persists, in next 3 years we shall lose many species of birds and animals. Human deaths will also be there in large numbers due to exhaustion, dehydration and sunstrokes. Who is responsible for this? The Nature? No. WE!!!

Truly, our ancestors have conserved all the natural resources of our Planet and handed safely to us. But what have we done? In past 4 decades alone we have produced more automobiles to enhance our comforts. But if you calculate the amount of harmful carbon exhausted in the atmosphere, it is the start of self-poisoning. We have cut more trees to build cities. We have destroyed the forest wealth. This resulted in the scarcity of rain. Some awareness like planting more trees has just come only by the start of this decade. Before that enough damage has been done. It is being taught to children that there is a layer called ozone and that has been thinned due to hazardous discharge from Industries. Have we stopped the production? Because of constant force of many social activists, Governments have imposed some regulations, remember they are only regulations and not remedies.

 

Though there are many organizations fighting against polluting the environment, things have progressed only to a diminutive level. There are plenty of awareness campaigns being conducted all over, but still they remain only as awareness and not progressed to action. Why?

Because, the change has to come from within ONESELF. Each and every individual is responsible for protecting the Earth. The campaigns have resulted in passing the ball. Even if one person takes one pledge and adheres to it, that will create a profound positive impact on the environment. This entire universe is made out of thoughts. If every person thinks that he is responsible for saving the Earth, then the individual thoughts will form cluster to form a potent force that can work on the environment for a positive change.

Naturally, the thoughts lead to action. Individual discipline becomes social discipline and eventually leads to global discipline. If you take the history of how countries acquired independence, it started as a thought that spread in the minds of every citizen. Likewise, the thought of earthly responsibility must spread in the minds like a fire. Then automatically, good positive thoughts compel good positive actions.

By Universal Law, you harvest only what you sow. So if your actions are good and responsible today, then surely good things will happen in future. So let us keep apart all postulates regarding 2012 and start being more responsible today. Let everyone of us take at least one pledge and start implementing in our daily life, with fullest confidence that the earth will once again become an ambient place for existence of living organisms. The dangers have come to Mother Earth many times. But Earth is strong enough that it can withstand any impacts from the celestial plane. But from our side, let us not spoil it by polluting. We shall conserve Earth in order to conserve Humanity. Let us all join together, take individual and collective responsibilities to save our planet.
