Five senses - Happiness
“Sex” is a word, which is not being pronounced as ordinarily as any other word. The reason is for long time, the word has been misunderstood. Everyone feel that there is something wrong in it. Also the concept of providing Sex education to children has been becoming popular and the same is getting implemented in plenty of countries. The education is imparted through the science teachers. Whatever is the actual process is legitimately explained to the children using various models and diagrams. But really, it is an embarrassing situation for the instructors as well as the students of that age. This is because; Sex Education is not being delivered, as it should be.
During one of Guru Mahan’s visit to Singapore, the devotees made a loving request to him to conduct a session on Sex Education to their Children. They expressed that though there is Sex Education in schools, they feared that their children might be misguided. They also told that, Sex education will be taught, “As it is” with diagrams, models etc by the Science teacher. They felt embarrassed to allow their children to learn the art in full in that manner. Guru Mahan satisfied their wish by conducting a session to their children. The parents along with their children attended without any hesitation, while that session concluded in fullest satisfaction. The children, while sharing their experience about the session vouched that they will never go in wrong ways and not indulge in any form of relationship before marriage. The parents also felt that they enjoyed a great relief that their children had learned about the subject in a proper way.
Now let everyone be aware of the method in which the Sex Education has to be imparted to the children. To have a plunge into the subject let us realize through some portion of Guru Mahan’s discourses on the subject.
My Dear Divine Souls.
Before going into the subject of Sex, let us go little deep into the human psychology. You are being told that there is a very beautiful waterfall nearby. Immediately what happens? Your mind is tempted to visit the place and SEE the waterfall. So you go there and enjoy the splendor of the silver waters falling from a great height, with a spectacular rainbow forming an arc around the falling water. You enjoy this with your eyes, hear the sound with your ears, and feel the chillness of the splashing water droplets in your skin. Then, naturally, you will be tempted to take a dip in the chill water current. So you tend to experience the bath. That’s ok. Once you move into the falling waters, you will be forced to stay and enjoy for longer durations and your mind will not easily let you finish off. You want still more of that experience. After enjoying the bath in the waterfall, your mind will naturally tempt you to visit the place again and again and get back the similar experience.
This is a natural phenomenon of Human Mind. Mind always travels out through the five senses. The sight through eyes, the feel through the skin, the smell through the nose, the taste through the tongue and the hearing through the ears. Whatever it receives gets registered in the cerebellum, the back brain. So do the joyful experiences. Time and again, it flashes and reminds of the joyful experience and creates fondness to experience the same again. Imagine you go to a buffet party and there are 50 varieties of sweets served before you. What you do? How many can restrict themselves with just one? The Mind will tempt to taste all of them. Though everything is made of sugar and going to taste sweet, the Mind says that each one is different and prompts you to enjoy and experience each one of them.
Coming to the Sex Education for children, there is a proper method by which it has to be taught. In present scenario, the children are made cognizant about the entire process in classrooms. The boys and girls together are made to listen. Mostly it is handled by male teachers as the female teachers in countries like India feel shy of talking about it. If something is still a subject of embarrassment, why it is forcibly inculcated?
How many children will refrain themselves after knowing the entire process of union? Won’t they have the natural instinct to go deep into the subject? They also have a tempting mind, in fact the temptation caused in the children mind and several times powerful than the adults. So what they do? They discuss the subject among the friends. The curiosity multiplies further. To satisfy the urge, they try to watch videos. Once they are successful in watching one video, the mind will make them go at it repeatedly, at one stage they go to the next level of action. Are we not sowing seeds of poison in a good cultivable land?
What are we doing? The children are supposed to learn many things in schooling. Sex education need not be imparted to them till the age of 12. After that too, Sex education need to be taught as a physical and psychological aspect and not as an anatomy or physiology subject. So the physical education instructors of each school are the right people to take up the subject than the science teachers. That too Physical Education Instructors should be well prepared on the content to be taught, if not so, then the subject will once again be deviated into the unwanted trajectory.
Why parents are not talking about sex freely to their children? It has been impregnated in the mind that Sex is a sinful act. Is that so? Let us analyze little further. What the term SEX means? “S” stands for “Senses” and “EX” stands for “Experience”. So the word “Sex” stands for all that you experience through your five senses. So it is not a term referring to just the Union of the Male and Female. If you SEE in this broader perspective brushing the old cobwebs from our Mind, we SEE that the term is no longer sinful and can be pronounced easily. It is recommended that everyone repeat pronouncing the word “Sex” at least 10 times. You can find that you become more comfortable in pronouncing and get acquaintance with the term.
How a parent or a schoolteacher can freely communicate with children on the topic of Sex? First of all, the art of copulation need not be detailed to the children, but can be presented to them in the form of gist. The parent or the teacher must understand that the sensual urge of the genitals is just another feeling like hunger, thirst, urination, excretory temptation etc. and is natural for all living organisms.
But they should be clearly made to understand what the natural instinct happens to them at the due age. The girl attains puberty and the boy has the first seminal ejaculation. At the first instance, the children are naturally puzzled. Who will they ask for clarification? If the parents and teachers do not help, then they try to clarify their doubts with friends or classmates. This is the first chance for misguidance. Here is where the sex Education has to come into play.
But are the parents or the teachers aware of what should be informed to the children? The Sex education should be taught as a real essence of the Human feelings and not as a subject. It should be taught to give clarity to the children and not as a session that raises their curiosity. They should be taught the following facts.
The whole Universe is made of one energy. We can call it any names we wish. We should understand that the same energy that formed the Universe is possessed everywhere, in soil, water, air, fire, sky, trees and plants, all living organisms and finally in Human beings too. That energy lies in inert form in the base of the spine. This energy is responsible for making a girl to attain puberty, produce eggs in regular cycles, receive the fertile sperm, fertilize and develop into the fetus. In male, this is responsible for the production of sperms and ejaculating them in the form of semen. So on the whole, it is a Divine process.
So every boy who learns this should treat this as a divine act that has to be done only after proper marriage. The wasting of semen is nothing but exhausting the Divine energy from our body. The children can be made to look at the motile sperms through a microscope and anyone can SEE a glow surrounding the head portion of the sperm. So every sperm is Divine and is literally carries a potential child in it. Instead, the adolescent boy can work in alternative method of utilizing the Divine Energy to the fullest potential by rejuvenating the brain cells. This may sound impractical in the present scenario but not an impossible thing. In the Vedic Dharma, this process is called “Brahmacharya”, where the boys practice saving the Divine Energy by not dissipating through the seminal means. Instead, they practiced the Yogic way of conserving the Energy, channelizing it to the brain hemispheres through the spinal cord, rejuvenating the brain cells, thereby attaining higher purpose.
So “Sex Education” has to be incorporated in Yogic way and should be handled by Yoga or physical education instructors. If so, then there need not be any embarrassment.

May the Divine Energy that fills the cosmos be present inside, outside and on all sides and guide the path of life towards the purpose.
