On 15th February, Guru Mahan along with his devotees went on the yatra to Rameshwaram. The yatra started from Madurai at 6.00 AM and reached Paramakudi where Guru Mahan and his devotees were received by Sri KVS Pandian who hosted the grand breakfast. Blessing his family members, Guru Mahan with his devotees continued the yatra and reached Rameshwaram. There at the entrance of Ramanathaswamy temple, Guru Mahan was received with honor by the divine couple(King & Queen)  Raja Kumaran Sethupathy, the Raja of Ramanathapuram, who has also been the managing trustee of the temple. After worshiping Lord Ramanatha (Lord Shiva) and Goddess Parvatha Varthini (Goddess Parvathi), Guru Mahan visited the Samadhi of Pathanjali, who has been considered as the originator of Yoga.

Pathanjali is the saint who lived thousands of years ago. Born in Thirumurthi Hills to Maharishi Athri and Anusuya Devi, Pathanjali was said to have received the Yogic knowledge from Nandhi which he depicted in the form of “Yoga Sutra” in Sanskrit and simplified the entire concept into eight simple steps (Ashtanga Yoga).

So it was a yatra started from the Birth place of Pathanjali to his Samadhi. Guru Mahan and the devotees meditated before the Samadhi and Guru Mahan gave a discourse on how Yoga evolved. He also blessed the King and his family, a long life, immaculate health, unbound wealth and everlasting happiness.

After lunch, Guru Mahan along with his devotees set to Sedhukkarai near Rameshwaram. Sethukkarai has several historical facts related to it. It has been the place where Lord Hanuman started his journey in search of Sita. This has been the place where the Lord Rama along with the monkey sena planned his war tactics against Ravana. This also has been where Vibeeshna met Lord Rama. And finally this was said to be the place where Lord Rama with his monkey sena built a bridge across the sea to reach Lanka. When we travel for 2 kilometers in the sea, we can come across a huge submerged surface ranging a long way. This has been believed to be the bridge built by Lord Rama.

There, the devotees had holy dip in the sea along with Guru Mahan. Guru blessed everyone and declared that all the sins committed by the devotees till then were removed. Guru Mahan conducted a Meditation in the hip level sea water facing the evening sun. Each one felt that the radiations from the sun refreshed the cells of the body and completely rejuvenated  the entire system of body, mind and intellect.

The divine yatra completed when everyone came back to Madurai. All the devotees carried the divine vibrations received during the yatra, with utmost happiness filling the mind. This yatra shall ever remain as an unforgettable experience and as a devotee, there shall always be a longing for the next yatra to come.
