At 8.45 am the nadaswara troop from Udumalpet started the holy music and added holiness to the function. All were thrilled. It was followed by the beautiful string of songs sung by the disciples Mei. Gurunesan, Mei. Gnanasiriyar. R.V. Mani, Mei. Gopal and devotees of Universal Peace Sanctuary, Chennai sang beautiful songs.
At 9.45 am, the trustees and Guru Piran Paranjothi Kaarmegam Iyyah hoisted the flag of wisdom and it fluttered on the pole. At 10.00 am the function started grandly with "One minute meditation". It was followed by divine songs sung by disciples of Universal Peace Santuary, Chennai along with background music.
The main programme of the fucntion is the exit of Guru Mahan from the Pranavalayam. Guru Maatha, Gurupiran Paranjothi Karmegam Iyyah, General Secretary Meignanasiriyar, K.S. SUndararaman, Srilasri Devi Karumaridasar, Meithiru. C. Shanmugavelu MLA., Udumalpet consituency, Thavagnani Sankarar Guruji and K. Vinayagam, trustee reached the Pranavalayam. The Pranavalayam was opened amidst holy music and the holy throne. He then came out of the Pranavalayam as bright as the eternall Sun, with a beautiful smile on his face, amidst the holy "Santhosam" chants of disciples. Just as all flowers bloom on seeing the Sun rise, all living beings bloomed on seeing the Sun of Wisdom. They attained the fruit of their birth. They became peaceful realising that their wish to attain salvation will be fulfilled.
Gurumaatha lit the first lamp of the "Ashta Deepam" and the other lamps were lit by Meignanasiriyai Eswari, Dr.Sarisijem, Lakshmi Revathy, SUndarambal, Meithirumathi. Jayashri Krishnakumar, Bhavani Suresh and Girija Rajan. A divine song was sung by Gurunesan. It was followed by a choir song sung by wisdom teachers and disciples.
Meithiru C.Shanmugavel, Udumalpet MLA., departed after getting Guru Mahan's blessings. He was blessed with a shawl by Guru Mahan. The DVD of the 20th World Welfare Penance Inagural function was released by Meignanaselvar K. Vinayagam, trustee Universal Peace Foundation and the first cassette was accepted by Meithiru. K.S. Senthil Ganesh M.B.A., RVS Groups of Educational Institution. The audio cassette of the inagural function was released by Meithiru somasundaram Iyyah, Chennai and the first cassette was accepted by Meithiru. Nithyanantham M.B.A., AMIMA., Sri Ramu Arts & Science College, Pollachi.
Prof. A.C. Kamaraj, President National Waterways Development Council, released the book, "Arul Gnana Mozhigal", the blessings of Guru Mahan and the first copy was accepted by Meithiru. Thangavel, Erode Agni Steels. The English version of the same book - "Gems of Wisdom" was released by Srilasri Devi Karumaridasar and the first copy was accepted by Meithiru. This was followed by choir songs. After that Guru Mahan Mahamaharishi Paranjothiar delivered the 20th World Welfare Penance Spiritual discourse and blessed the gathering. After this Gurumaatha surrendered the holy food for the lunch to Guru Mahan. He blessed the food. All were fed happily after this blessing.
The afternoon session of the function started at about 3 pm after lunch. Thavathiru Sankarar Guruji addressed the gathering. Prof A.C. Kamaraj spoke to the people about the National Waterways, Mei Somasundaram Iyyah shared his experiences. Guru Mahan blessed all the people who attended the fucntion. The "Atchaya Niddhi"(coins) was kept inside the pyramid during the penance to improve Indian economy and to amke India rank first int he worls. These coins were distributed by Gurumatha to the disciples. A fruit (orange) was gien to all by the wisdom teachers.
Many devottes from inland, Malaysia, Singapore and Canada paricipated in the valedictory function, received Guru Mahan's blessings and grace and returned home happily. The compere of the function was Meithiru. Prof. Durai Angusamy. ALl the arrangements for the successful completion of the fucntion was done very grandly by the 20th World Welfare Penance Committee
