Real Expectations of People

People are supposed to have idealistic aspirations that lift them up from their existing level and take them to a higher level. But nurturing such noble aspirations is a difficult task and demands considerable change of personality and way of functioning. People find it much easier to cultivate their existing expectations which they believe are real aspirations and would be happy beyond measure if their present “aspirations” are fulfilled as they are. These ordinary aspirations are not any less difficult to fulfill and can require tremendous adjustments from society and Life in general to satisfy all of them . Still that does not prevent people from having these aspirations&expectations and dreaming of the day when these will be fulfilled. These expectations may show a lot of greed, lack of common sense and plain foolishness and unrealistic demands . But such is the stuff of Human nature and if given freedom people are bound to express what is inside them. It is up to Society and Life to choose what is good and reject what is bad.

1. Adult Men
Let us have as much income, power and scope for enjoying life as possible irrespective of our merit and desert.

2.Adult ladies
Let us have as much money for shopping as possible and as much space at home to store our dresses, jewelry and household gadgets as possible.

3. Children
Let us have as much scope to be playing all the time and as much holidays from school as possible.

4. Employers
Let us pay as little compensation as possible and extract as much work from the employees as possible.

5. Employees
Let us do as little work as possible and extract as much compensation from the employer as possible.

6. Citizens
Let the government give us all the facilities we want and let it demand no taxes from us for any reason.

7. Government Officers
Let us all come to work at 11.00 A.M and leave for home at 4.00 P.m and let there be as much extra unofficial income as possible and as little workload as possible.

8. The government and ruling Party
Let there be no questions or protest from Opposition Parties or the Press and the public at our actions and let us not be accountable to anyone for whatever we do.

9. Domestic servants
Let us not do a bit more work than what we have agreed to and let us enforce more and more of our rights and privileges.

10. Husbands
Let our wives be slaves and accept whatever we impose on them without a murmur of protest.

11. Wives
Let our husbands hand over all their incomes to us and ask no questions as to how it has been spent and what for.

12. Students
Let question papers be as easy possible and it would be great if the questions are known before hand.

We can plainly see that it is not possible for Nature or Life or Society to fulfill any of these expectations and keep society functioning in a healthy and efficient manner. Still that will not prevent any of the above mentioned categories of people from nurturing these expectations and even asking the support of the Supreme to sanction and grant these expectations through non-stop prayers voiced for divine support for these wishes and demands. The nature of these expectations give us an idea as to how unreasonable and demanding human nature can be and why Life treats us so harshly and mercilessly at times. It obviously understands nothing short of severe treatment will make humanity come out of its foolishness and unreasonable demands. So there we are!!!. We keep magnifying our demands and Life keeps giving us stronger and stronger blows. The Show goes on in a non-stop manner with neither side relenting!!!
